About us
The very first X-Plane "x-tras"site I found a little over 5 years ago, was this site. I had just ordered X-Plane 5.99 and was surprised when version 6.00 actually showed up at my doorstep. Like many who are real pilots, or just enjoy flight simulation, I was hooked on X-Plane within 10 minutes, and had to have more "toys' to feed the need. Going back to the X-Plane site revealed an FTP site that Austin ran for years, and this site, the X-Plane Gateway.
The X-Plane Gateway has been an invaluable source of X-Plane add-ons for myself and many in the community. On a recent visit I noticed the message that the site was planning on closing, and I saw that as an opportunity to carry on the torch, and hopefully make some changes that are beneficial to all in the X-Plane community.
While all of our plans are not final to say the least, there will be some immediate changes, i.e. the new website design. However, we will always try to stay true to the core purpose of the site, which is to maintain links to every quality X-Plane add-on that we are aware of, regardless of the version supported. We solicit your suggestions, comments and submissions. Welcome to the all new X-Plane Gateway.
